Sustainability Officer Laura and Pritchard CEO Mark Sewell at Sustainability Advantage Awards
Warrigal are a Silver Partner of the Sustainability Advantage Recognition program.
Staff recently attended the Awards Ceremony at the Museum of Contemporary Art where the NSW Minister for the Environment, the Hon Mark Speakman, led the celebration of achievements of new Bronze, Silver and Gold Partners of the Sustainability Advantage Recognition Program.
Over 100 people gathered to celebrate the excellent environmental performance and commitment to sustainability of our members. We acknowledged 27 partners: nine Bronze, ten Silver and a record eight Gold – literally doubling the number of gold members in our program, which has been supporting NSW businesses as they strive for sustainable best practice for close to ten years.
An impressive 60 per cent of partners recognised were from regional NSW.
The combined annual savings of the new partners – achieved via improved productivity and reduction in the use of raw materials, energy, water and waste – is $13 million per annum. Mr Speakman applauded the partners on these substantial savings.
“These organisations are leading the way, future-proofing their own operations and making a very significant contribution to the wider community, environment and economy,” Mr Speakman said.
“New partners of this program are to be congratulated for demonstrating leadership, setting ambitious targets and achieving exceptional environmental and sustainable outcomes.”
The Minister also announced the start of the program’s first two Platinum Projects.
