Warrigal Wows

Choice. That is at the centre of Warrigal’s new philosophy, new purpose and new look and feel.

Choice. That is at the centre of Warrigal’s new philosophy, new purpose and new look and feel. We have changed their visual identity and name to reflect an evolution and expansion of their new communities and services and their renewed focus on individuals.

From now on we are delighted to be known as Warrigal, where inspiring communities for older people allow you to be yourself.

“Moving into a retirement village doesn’t change anything about you as an individual. Our current residents, clients and other older people in the community told us that this perceived loss of identity is a major concern for them.” says Warrigal CEO Mark Sewell.

“At Warrigal we believe that just because you need a little help around the house, or because you choose to live in one of our Community Villages, that doesn’t change who you are. Nor should it. Our new look and feel, and our new philosophy, is our way of inviting older people to come and be a part of Warrigal, whilst still being themselves.”

The new Warrigal vision is for older people to have great lives. Warrigal’s purpose as a community owned organisation to support older people to create inspiring communities, whether it be as part of one of our 10 Community Villages or as a client of our Warrigal Connect or Club Connect services.

Warrigal welcomed our first resident as Mount Warrigal Retirement Trust in 1967 and over the last 4 decades have grown to 10 locations with over 1000 staff and volunteers and almost 1500 customers and residents. There are also new communities in Shell Cove and Wollongong currently planned.

As the aged care and retirement living industries face a new frontier of regulatory reforms and a major shift in customer expectations, Warrigal are now ready. With a new way of doing things that allows older people to say “I chose to do what I did today. It was a good day and I was able to be myself.”

Excitement imbues Warrigal, with hopes that you, our customers find the new look vibrant, individual, supportive and fun. Warrigal staff celebrated with a special Purple Day on 1 November at all community villages. Take a look at some pictures below.
