Shell Cove in Hot Demand

Illawarra based care & retirement living provider Warrigal has been overwhelmed with the response to the first stage release of its prime positioned Shell Cove Marina Community Village.

Almost 300 interested parties pre-registered their interest for the villas and apartments and were invited to the exclusive launch of the new village.

The first stage 33 villas were snapped up by eager potential residents in just a matter of days, which could be the fastest retirement village sale in Australian history. This has prompted Warrigal to bring forward the release of the next stage. This will be 27 of its 53 apartments which will
now be released in one month (ie late September). They will be offered, like the stage 1 villas to members of the Warrigal Village Choices Register.

Warrigal CEO, Mark Sewell commented "We are delighted that our research and planning has delivered a place to live for our local community that they have received so well.

One of the things we have realized over the years is that older people don't want stress and complications when they get towards the later stages of life. They want all their needs and wishes met in a seamless and simple way that works for them. They want it to be local, affordable,
comfortable and from a service provider whom they can trust. Our new village at Shell Cove delivers all of these things in an amazing prime location. Why shouldn't older people in this community live in the best location in this community? We have made that possible.

There are currently about 184,000 Australians living in retirement villages. In line with population projections this is expected to increase to
382,000 by 2025, we are working towards meeting this increased demand."

Construction began on August 3 for the $70M project which received $17M from the Restart NSW Illawarra Infrastructure Fund to assist construction
of the much needed residential care home, and community facilities on the same site. The new village will also provide a range of important services for older people outside the village , and plays a significant part in the new Shell Cove Marina precinct.
